LBSBM Online ( was launched in 2013 with the aim of targeting sales from DIY and trade markets outside of the current LBS Builders Merchants branch network. Following rapid year on year growth there is an exciting opportunity for us to expand LBS' award winning eCommerce offer.
Following recent investment into dedicated warehouse and office space in Port Talbot, we are looking to broaden our online product offer and have an opportunity for a results driven individual to assist with maintaining the product portfolio on our customer facing websites and marketplaces.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of computer literacy with knowledge of the Magento platform, experience of working with large data sets and an understanding of Google Analytics. This role requires the individual to be methodical, with a good blend of technical skills and commercial acumen, alongside good writing ability. With further company-wide expansions planned in coming years we have the opportunity to streamline company product data through the use of PIM tools, now is a perfect opportunity to join our team for an exciting long term career.


  • Ownership of product / price / availability and discontinued item spreadsheets for import onto the Magento Platform, plus eBay and Amazon channels. Creation of new filters, attributes and attribute sets.

  • Contact suppliers to obtain product information and images in order to create engaging product listings, containing key features and supporting documents, optimised for the customer and for search.

  • Assist with identifying new products or ranges based on category performance.

  • Ensure all products are strategically merchandised across the site through use of best sellers, new in and special offer pages.

  • Increase basket size through cross-sell & up-sell opportunities. Propose new bundle ideas, looking at margin, availability & demand - implement on site.

  • Test new product features on development sites before introducing them to the live sites. Assist with bug-fixing, identification of website issues, and liaise with 3rd party agencies.

  • Responsible for the creation and management of online paid campaign content, Google Merchant Centre, Bing & Facebook feeds. Reports on performance of campaigns and ROI.

  • Assist with segmentation through purchase history and compile relevant email marketing campaigns.

  • Online competitor analysis, offers, marketing strategies and functionality.

  • Liaise with product category manager and stock controllers to ensure changes within the ERP are fed back and updated throughout online channels.

  • Occasional photography and image manipulation for online use.

  • Review on site search results to deliver the best customer experience.

  • General support as required by Online Sales manager and Directors.


  • Experience in the use of the Magento

  • Must be proficient MS Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel required.

  • Understanding of Google Analytics / Adwords / Search

  • Previous experience with a PIM (Product Information Management) and / or Content Management system a plus.

  • Ability to work under instruction as well as being able to show initiative and take responsibility and ownership of tasks.

  • SEO practices would be advantageous.


42.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

The Builders Merchant industry is made up of builders merchants, plumbers merchants, timber merchants and other specialist merchants, who supply products and materials to construction companies, tradespeople and the general public. They make up and deliver orders and advise customers on which products to use for a particular job/s. The merchants are in turn supplied by merchant suppliers who manufacture/refine the raw materials/products that are sold by the merchants.
